
Rated: Mild, for a bit of intense violence. There were enough hints and clues and misdirections to keep me turning pages.īut, most of all, it was the perfect fantasy: fun, fluffy and just right for that quick escape into another world. Who wants her dead? I found myself biting my nails, intent on figuring out who was behind the plan. There’s mystery and intrigue and suspense, as the main thread of the story surrounds the investigation into the plot to assassinate Aurelia. The romance is utterly swoon-worthy, with a bit of cluelessness and a dash of unrequited love just to make things interesting.

There’s great sword-fighting, awesome horse-racing, and it’s all mostly well-written and intense. There have been several narrowly escaped attempts to assassinate the princess, but the king has no desire to incite panic by making the information public. Robert, her former classmate, wants Aurelia.


And Aurelia fits the bill perfectly: the title character is a feisty, yet conflicted, heroine, who in the end finds direction and kicks some major butt. Aurelia, the crown princess of Tyralt, wants control over her own life.
